The Global Gauge Shear Control System (SCS) is a PLC-based control platform designed to replace outdated shear control hardware. As an add-on to Global Gauge’s Crop Optimization System, it ensures precise shear positioning and consistent crop lengths to maximize usable yield and reduce scrap.
Camera captures incoming strip and identifies optimal crop locations using Crop Optimization System logic.
SCS PLC receives crop targets and computes shear timing and actuator commands.
Modern servo or hydraulic shear drive executes the cut within ±5 mm of the target.
Each crop event is logged with target vs actual length for shift and coil reporting.
