Long-products mills (rod, wire, bar, tube, and billet) demand full 360° profile measurement, not single-axis thickness. The 3D Shaper LGE series rotates laser emitters around the product at up to 30 rev/s, computing diameter, ovality, and shape class at mill speed.
A typical application: a 3D Shaper LGE-R at the exit of a high-speed wire rod finishing block, measuring full 360° profile and ovality on small-diameter rod and feeding closed-loop finishing-block control to reduce off-spec coils.
