A PC-based laboratory X-ray fluorescence system for verifying zinc, tin and aluminum coating weights on cut samples at the bench: independent confirmation for your coating line, in the QC lab.
A production sample is cut from the coated strip and brought to the QC laboratory bench.
The sample is placed over the measurement window of the benchtop system.
The 60 kV source excites the coating through a beryllium window; fluorescence intensity read by the CWG ion chamber resolves the coating weight.
Readings give independent verification of the in-line coating weight gauges and are logged for QC records.

Accuracy and repeatability for laboratory coating weight measurement depend on the coating, the substrate and sample preparation, so they are quoted per application rather than published. Tell us the coatings you run, your target weights and your QC reporting requirements, and our applications team will return the figures you will hold on your samples.
